He graduated from the Department of Information Management, Air Force College of Politics, July 1994, and got bachelor's degree. In January 2005, he graduated from the Department of International Politics, Fudan University and got Ph.D degree. In November 2007, he began working in Center for American Studies, Fudan University.

He got the 3rd prize of Science and Technology Progress Awards of PLA in 2000, and the 1st Prize of Shanghai Philosophy and Social Science Outstanding Achievement Awards in 2014, 2016, and the 2nd Prize of Outstanding Achievement Awards in Scientific Research of China's Colleges and Universities in 2020.
