Abstract
Increasing trade restrictions based on cybersecurity policies and laws have changed the trade balance and trade structure, thereby promoting the emergence and escalation of trade retaliation, which is one of the important driving forces of the evolution of China-U.S. trade conflicts. Under the trend of continuous convergence of internet technologies and trade processes, cybersecurity concerns are difficult to resolve via trade conflicts. This paper takes the logical structure of cybersecurity as the starting point, analyzes various cybersecurity issues that touch the trade rules, sorts out the interaction between cybersecurity and China-U.S. trade relations, and discusses the main reasons for cybersecurity affecting China-U.S. trade relations. This paper argues that properly addressing the cybersecurity concerns of both China and the United States will help alleviate the imbalance of trade volume and distortion of trade structure, respond to free trade and fair trade demands, and promote the return of economic and trade as one of the stabilizers for China-U.S. relations.
