The Center for American Studies boasts an independent building with the total floor space of 5800 square meters. Divided into four floors, the building includes 4 reception rooms or meeting rooms, and one adminstration office on the first floor, 8 classrooms of different sizes mainly on the second floor, a big library on the third floor, and 15 faculty offices mainly on the fourth floor. The multi-functional conference room, with the simultaneous interpretation device, has been the venue for dozens of domestic and international conferences every year. And the unique triangular atrium with green carpet has been a distinctive places for important activities, including the speeches made by Former Secretary of State Christopher and Senator Curt Weldon.
The second phase construction, which will increase the total floor space to 8000 square meters, is under way now. Just as the first phase construction, the building in use now, this is also under the auspices of the American Schools and Hospitals Abroad Program of the U. S. Agency for International Development. By the completion of the construction, an international conference hall with 380 seats and 4 sets of simultaneous interpretation devices will add new glamor to the building.
