America's Intelligence Agency Rediscovers Its Specialist Path

The end of 2007 brought the following surprising revelation: American intelligence concluded that Iran had halted its nuclear weapons program as early as the fall of 2003. The world was astounded at the news, especially since it showed a massive disparity with the actions of the US government, which not long before was heavily condemning Iran for its nuclear ambitions. This shows that American intelligence has learned a lesson from the Iraqi nuclear weapons question, and is now paying more attention to its independent role in gathering evidence. This evolution in the realm of intelligence work will have important implications for the strategic policy of future American governments.
