Abstract

The Offensive Realism is a new theory of the realism approach since the end of cold war. And it had great influence on America academic circle. The paper evaluated John J . Mearsheimer’s offensive realism strictly through the scientific research program methodology. Then it holds that the theory is a degenerative program and has put the realism to extreme. It also has many logical defects from the perspective of technicality.In the end , the article holds that the argument of“the threat of China”, based on the offensive realism , does not stand firmly.
