Abstract

The important thought of“Three Represents”is the guideline to understanding the changing trend of the international situation and formulating China’s foreign strategy in the new century. And the very key point is to keep pace with the times. In judging the trend of the current international situation , keeping pace with the times means that we must apprehend the scientific concept of the era including mainly the multi-polarization of the world , economic globalization , democratization in international relations and diversification of development models. The international situation has been undergoing profound changes. Peace and development , however , still remain the two dominant themes of our times and regional disputes are still the main forms of the future international conflicts. For China , therefore , the current major mission is to handle properly the relationship of anti2terrorism and anti-hegemony , and especially to grasp the strategic opportunity firmly and strive for a good international environment for building a well-off society across the country and expediting the socialist modernization.
