Abstract

With the development of the revolution in information technology and the deepening of mass participation in politics ,great changes have taken place in the interactions between the media and diplomacy.Media diplomacy has increasingly become an integral part of modern diplomacy. This essay expounds upon the content and operating mechanism of media diplomacy on the basis of explanations of the concept , its characteristics ,as well as the reasons for its rise. It draws the conclusion that the developed countries and the developing countries both should pay more attention to media diplomacy and regard it as a very important part of modern diplomacy in the era of globalization.
