Abstract

This paper examines the origin and development of the Taiwan Strait crisis in 1996 , particularly the US responses and its poliy-making process. It focuses on the analysis of the impact of the crisis on US-China policy , its Taiwan policy and its security policy in the Asia2Pacific Region.
