Abstract: The United States has actively intervened in every Taiwan leadership election, aiming toinfluence the election results and the policy direction of the next leader, and improve the ability of theWnited States to control the cross-Strait situation, With the aim to maintain its influence in the Taiwanpolitical situation, continue the line of "using Taiwan to contain China”, and reduce the risk of Sino-USconflict in the Taiwan Strait, the [nited States is more actively and directly involved in Taiwan's "twoin-one" election in 2024. First, the US executive branches set the policy framework to constrain themain candidates.Secondly,the"American Institute inaiwanstrengthened direct contactandinteraction with major candidates to control the trends of the election, Finally, the United Statesreceived and interviewed Taiwan candidates who visited the United States to explain their policypositions, Generally speaking, the United States not only pushed Lai Chingte to call back his radicalpolicy propositions but also ensured the election result served its [S-China strategic competition agendaand consolidated Taiwan's “consensus of depending on the US"
