Abstract:Abstract: The political polarization, especially the partisan polarization, is the defining feature of contemporary Americanpolitics. The Republicans and Democrats not only differ greatly in ideological orientations, domestic and foreign policy areas, but alsohave much more cool or cold feelings towards the other. The political polarization also has spillover effect on the U.S. foreign policy, leading to inconsistency, exaggerating outside threat, and obsessed with America First. American foreign policy in the era of growingdomestic political polarization not only increases the risk of China-US confrontation, but also casts a long shadow over the peace, stability, and prosperity in the Asia-Pacific.Keywords:Keywords: The United States of America, political polarization, China-US relations, Asia-Pacific order
