Abstract
The new central leadership with Hu Jingtao as the Secretary General pays great attention to Sino-U.S. relations. It carries on and develops further the strategic thinking and policy of the three generations of leadership headed by Mao Zedong, Deng Xiaoping and Jiang Zemin. In face of the new situation, new challenges and new tasks, the new central leadership has put forward a series of new concepts, ideas and politics, thus greatly enriched the contents of Sino-U.S. relations and kept the momentum of the mutual relationship. This paper reviews and sums up from multi-facet perspectives the important contributions made by the new central leadership in advancing the constructive and cooperative relationship between China and the U.S.
