Prof. Francis Fukuyama, the author of the New York Times best seller The End of History and the Last Man, visited CAS in the company of delegates from the American Consulate in Shanghai on March 10, 2003. After a meeting with Prof. Ni Shixiong, the director of CAS, he gave a lecture in the multi-functional conference room of CAS. He re-explained his popular theory in the context of the contemporary world, before many questions and answers on various issues toward the end of the lecture.
