At the invitation of the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, Professor Wu Xinbo, Dean of the Institute of International Studies (IIS) and Director of the Center for American Studies (CAS) at Fudan University, delivered a series of academic lectures from September 28 to October 10, 2025, in his capacity as the Ngee Ann Kongsi Professor in International Relations.

During his two-week visit, Professor Wu presented three thematic lectures titled “China’s U.S. Policy in Trump’s Second Term,” “Pragmatic Multilateralism in a Multipolar World,” and “Two Competing Narratives: The Evolution of the Asia-Pacific Security Architecture.” Drawing on extensive research and first-hand observation, he analyzed the prospects of China–U.S. relations under a potential second Trump administration, the evolving nature of global multilateral cooperation, and the competing regional security frameworks shaping the Asia-Pacific.

In addition to his lectures, Professor Wu participated as a guest speaker at two major international conferences—the Asia Future Summit 2025 and the Singapore–China Forum 2025—where he shared insights on regional security, global governance, and China’s diplomatic strategy. His lectures and remarks attracted wide attention and were covered by major Singaporean media outlets, including The Straits Times, Lianhe Zaobao, and Channel NewsAsia (CNA).

While in Singapore, Professor Wu also paid courtesy visits to President Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Minister for Defence Ng Eng Hen, and Chinese Ambassador to Singapore Cao Zhongming, exchanging views on China–U.S. relations and Singapore–China relations. The meetings offered valuable opportunities to deepen mutual understanding and strengthen academic and policy exchanges between Fudan University and key Singaporean institutions.
