On October 14, 2024, a delegation from the Carter Center visited the Center for American Studies at Fudan University (CAS Fudan) for a roundtable dialogue. Professor Wu Xinbo, Director of CAS Fudan, and Nick Zeller, Senior Program Associate of “China Focus” at the Carter Center, opened the session by reflecting on the history of cooperation between the two centers and discussing prospects for future collaboration. Keynote speeches followed, featuring Robert Daly, Director of the Wilson Center’s Kissinger Institute on China and the United States; Professor Sun Degang, Director of the Center for Middle Eastern Studies at Fudan University; and Nick Zeller. Topics included the evolution of U.S.-China relations and the U.S. election, opportunities for U.S.-China cooperation in the Middle East, and American public opinion on China-related issues. More than ten scholars and students from China and the United States joined this dialogue, engaging in lively and in-depth discussions.
