The Wide-ranging Roundtable Seminar Series on Donald Trump, DPRK & Iran Nuclear Issues was held at Center for American Studies, Fudan University

     On the afternoon of June 13th, the Roundtable Seminar Series organized by the Institute of International Studies took place at Center for American Studies, Fudan University. Alexander T. J. Lennon, Editor-in-Chief of CSIS's flagship journal,The Washington Quarterly (hosted by the Elliott School of International Affairs, George Washington University),Professor WU Xinbo, Director of the Center for American Studies(CAS) and Dean of the Institute of International Studies at Fudan University and Professor SUN Degang, Deputy Director of The Middle East Studies Institute Affiliated to Shanghai International Studies University conducted in-depth discussions and exchanged views on Deal or No Deal? Donald Trump and DPRK & Iran Nuclear Issues of common concern. Professor WU Xinbo moderated the event.

     Donald J.Trump announced on May 9 that he was withdrawing the U.S. from the 2015 Iran nuclear deal and on June 12, a historic summit between U.S. President Donald Trump and DPRK top leader Kim Jong-un was held in Singapore successively, which would exert great impact on upholding peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and in the Middle East. The three scholars conducted profound exploration and analysis of Trump's withdrawal from Iran nuclear deal in political terms, reviewing the Trump-Kim Summit outcome, the prospect of the trends of U.S. policy on DPRK & Iran Nuclear Issues and the co-operative game between China and the United States on the above-mentioned issues, in reply to the questions raised by the audience present at the seminar.The Wide-Ranging Roundtable Seminar Series on Donald J. Trump, DPRK & Iran Nuclear Issues was held on the day following the Trump-Kim summit in Singapore, focusing on the hotspot issues in the international community and drawing the members of the media and the students both at home and abroad to attend the fabulous event.
