28th-29th December, 2007: The American Research National Philosophy and Social Science Innovation Center hosted its second academic workshop, entitled "Sino-American Relations and The Direction of American Strategy", at Fudan University's Center for American Studies.

The participants included representatives from the following organizations: Ministry of Foreign Affairs Policy Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs American Bureau, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Chinese Institute for International Studies, PLA Military Studies Center, Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, Shanghai Institute for Asian Studies, Shanghai Institute for American Studies, Shanghai Institute for International Studies, Qinghua University International Studies Center, Shanghai Jiaotong International Affairs and Public Services Center, Huadong Normal University International Affairs and Regional Development Research Center, and the China Central Party School.   

The workshop was concerned with three core issues: American Politics and Economics; America's Strategic Direction; Sino-American Relations.
