On November 17, 2024, the U.S.-China Political Dialogue 2024 was held in Shenzhen. Both sides engaged in candid, in-depth, and constructive exchanges under the theme “Cooperation and Challenge under New Circumstances: The Path Forward for China-U.S. Relations.” Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), attended and delivered the keynote speech. The dialogue was chaired by Lu Kang, Vice Minister of the IDCPC. Over 50 participants attended, including representatives from Chinese ministries, local governments, universities, think tanks, as well as U.S. Democratic and Republican Party members, strategic experts, and business leaders.
Professor Wu Xinbo was invited to participate in the dialogue. In his speech on the second topic, “New Efforts to Promote China-U.S. People-to-People Exchanges,” he emphasized the significance of cultural exchanges between China and the U.S. and offered constructive suggestions on how to further strengthen these exchanges.
