30th October 2007: Zi Zhongyun, Former Director of the American Research Centre at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and a noted Chinese expert in the field of international relations, visited the CAS. He delivered a report on the subject of “Early 20th Century American Progressivism and Late 20th Century American Neo-Conservatism”.

Following the report, Zi Zhongyun engaged in lively discussion with the audience on the various themes raised by his report, including the origins of, impetus behind, and future direction of American progessivism and neo-conservativism.
