On October 13th, the work conference on scientific research was held in the new semester at Center for American Studies(CAS) and facilitated by Professor WU Xinbo, Director of CAS, Fudan University.

　　Director WU Xinbo commented on the major academic achievements made by the researchers in the last three years and proposed that centering on the essential  requirements of constructing key research institutes of humanities and social sciences at universities, Ministry of Education, the researchers would continuously develop research approaches, promote innovation capacity and produce more outstanding academic achievements. The researchers introduced the progress of advancing scientific research projects respectively and put forward proposals on how to further innovate American Studies. Deputy Director SONG Guoyou made introductions of editing and publishing Fudan American Review and constructing the Database of International Relations, Fudan University.

　　The researchers present at the conference conducted in-depth discussion and had a broad exchange of views on such issues as development planning, research characteristics and major research directions to jointly further advance the innovative development of Center for American Studies, Fudan.
