To commemorate the forthcoming 70th Anniversary of the Founding of The People's Republic of China and extend the 35th Teacher's Day greetings, in pursuit of the glorious unifying theme "Remain true to our original aspiration and keep our mission firmly in mind", the CPC Party Committee at Fudan University granted accreditations to the IIS Advisory and Policy-Making Research as well as one of the Top 10 Pedagogical Teams to resonate with Professor ZHONG Yang’s spiritual impetus.

   On the afternoon of September 9th, Fudan Commendation Assembly Commemorating The 70th Anniversary of the Founding of The People's Republic of China & Extending The 35th Teacher's Day Greetings was convened in Guanghua Building. At the Assembly, Party Secretary JIAO Yang and President XU Ningsheng of Fudan University presented awards to laureates and honorees for their remarkable excellence and superior distinction in the realms of educational enterprises and research undertakings to emulate Professor ZHONG Yang's lofty ideals correspondingly. Professor WU Xinbo, Director of the Center for American Studies and Dean of the Institute of International Studies at Fudan University succeeded in leading the IIS Advisory and Policy-Making Research Team, conferred Rating Plate with Certificate of Honor from the awards presenters at Fudan University.

   Professor WU, distinguished as one of the respresentatives, delivered the splendid thematic speech at the convention. He noted that with progressive strides moving on the path towards the center of the world arena, unprecedented opportunities and challenges conexisted and interwined for China's diplomacy. Numerous indispensable theoretical and practical issues needed to be probed into and settled. Utilizing collective wisdom and erudition to research on and facilitate tackling major issues in foreign affairs, advancing the historical process of major-country diplomacy with Chinese characteristics, harbouring the mission of researchers in the scope of international studies of the times, embodied the traditional nature of Fudaners’ ultimate pursuit of serving the country. He conveyed that facing the future, we would endeavour to constitute due contributions to China's diplomacy with exceptional scholarly attainments, enormous senses of missions and distinct national consciousness.

   In recent years, called upon by the CPC Central Committee, the Institute of International Studies, vigorously promoting the construction of new-type think tanks under the leadership and auspices of Fudan University, has further delivered intellectual expertise for the theory and practice of major-country diplomacy with Chinese characteristics, resoundingly acclaimed by the relevant departments of the Party and the State. As of 2013, the Institute of International Studies at Fudan University has been successively accredited by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China as "Key Cooperation Institute for Policy Studies(2019-2021)" for the third time in a row. In the phase of 2016 to 2018, the Institute worked closely with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to continuously provide intellectual support for national diplomatic strategy and policy-making advisory service, which was fully affirmed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Into the prospective realms, the whole community will spur to exert the comprehensive disciplinary strengths of Fudan University in accordance with the circumstances to further prompt inputs into emerging proposals for China's diplomatic endeavours. Taking Accolades Garnered by the IIS Advisory and Policy-Making Research Team at Fudan University to Resonate with Professor ZHONG Yang's Spiritual Illumination as an impetus, we are bound to steadily propel the construction and strive to attain the goal of turning into one of the premium think tanks researching on international studies henceforth.
