On September 20, 2019, Managerial Convention for Key Research Institutes of Humanities and Social Sciences organized by Ministry of Education was convened in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China. The convention highlighted adherence to the path and implementing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. All regions and all government departments have steadily strengthened their consciousness of the need to maintain political integrity, think in big-picture terms, uphold the leadership core, and keep in alignment. To revive the nation, we must fortify our confidence in the socialist path, theories, system and culture with Chinese characteristics. Resolutely uphold General Secretary Xi Jinping's core position on the Party Central Committee and in the Party as a whole, and resolutely uphold the Party Central Committee's authority and its centralized, unified leadership. Improve the scientific nature of reform-related decision making, pursue the construction in a more systematic, holistic, coordinated way, and pioneer new approaches through practice.

　The Convention comprehensively outlined the remarkable accomplishments and constructively successful progress over the past two decades, notably as of the Eighteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China. It also profoundly analyzed the status quo and tasks faced by the research acdemia, with proposals that all Key Research Institutes would further strengthen theoretical,policy advisory capacity, planning service, personnel as well as  favourable academic infrastructure construction, promote the connotation-based development of high-quality specialization, to enhance philosophy and social sciences with Chinese characteristics and foster the consolidation of education. Cultivate a powerful nation to achieve the two centenary goals, and realize the Chinese Dream of national rejuvenation.

　Professor Wu Xinbo, Director of the Center for American Studies and Dean of the Institute of International Studies at Fudan University, as the representative, delivered the keynote speech and briefed on the achievements and capacity in building "think tanks" and "versatile generalist" to meet the needs of national strategy and serve China's diplomacy with the core mission. In the process of promoting the construction of specialized think tanks over the decades, with firm political stand, acute professional expertise, high policy awareness and strong innovative spirit, we shoulder the responsibilities, adept in perceiving the international situation, and accurately grasp the essence of national diplomatic strategy. We have constituted due contributions to embrace the spirit and enhance abilities so as to fight and win in the face of risks and challenges now and in the future.The whole community will spur to exert the comprehensive disciplinary strengths of Fudan University in accordance with the circumstances to further prompt inputs into emerging proposals for China's diplomatic endeavours as one of the Key Research Institutes of Humanities and Social Sciences in University Nationwide.
