On August 1st, 2020, The Eighth Chinese Association of American Studies (CAAS) General Membership Assembly was convened. The assembly proceeded the rounds of balloting to elect Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Secretary-General, Vice Secretary-General and Members of the CASS Council.

　　Professor Wu Xinbo, Dean of the Institute of International Studies and Director of the Center for American Studies at Fudan University succeeded in being elected to CASS as Vice Chairperson.

　　Professor Song Guoyou, Deputy Director of the Center for American Studies at Fudan University and Professor Wei Zongyou took up the roles of Vice Secretary-General and Member of the Council respectively via the ensuing CASS Assembly ballots.
