The China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) has named seven scholars from the Center for American Studies at Fudan University (CAS Fudan) to its prestigious "2024 CNKI Top 1% Highly Cited Scholars" list. This recognition comes from an exhaustive review process that includes article and conference paper citations from CNKI's vast index of academic journals.
The selection process began with scholars who published at least one paper between 2014 and 2023, achieving a Paper Citation Standardized Index (PCSI) higher than the national average of 1.65. From a pool of approximately 3.35 million eligible authors across China, those ranking in the top 1% based on their total PCSI were shortlisted. This rigorous criterion required a baseline index of 31.016, along with the stipulation of having published at least five papers in the past decade with a PCSI exceeding 1.65, and at least one being highly influential.
The scholars from the CAS Fudan—Wu Xinbo, Song Guoyou, Xin Qiang, Zhao Minghao, Cai Cuihong, Wei Zongyou, and Wang Hao—have distinguished themselves through their profound contributions to their fields. This accolade underscores the global academic impact and the exceptional quality of research fostered at the CAS Fudan.
